For a grand majority of the year, while busy working on a big project, I have felt deflated and dejected in making illustrations.
I think it's because I dial in so much of my artistic energy into this project but I feel like a failure for how hard it is for me to just
make a cool stand-alone illustration now, compared to two years ago or so. This illustration was very different initially, but I was so
overrun with that feeling that I completely destroyed it, turning it into a corpse that sits unrecognizable with pale and bloated skin.
As I write this (November 2024), I still feel this way. I have done more writing and music production this year than drawing.

This is a drawing of Spongebob Squarepants, if you didn't know, he lives in a pineapple, under the sea specifically.
Sometimes I get on a huge kick and binge the first 3 seasons multiple times in one week, it makes me feel happy.

I was inspired by this one poster for a show that involved a few bands and liked how it looked, and a particular thumbnail by a youtuber I watch on occasion (ThorHighHeels).
Obviously the name is a reference to the anime, I haven't finished it yet but i'd like to, it was very good from what I watched. I wanted to make something as raw, threatening, evil and abrasive as possible.
I used a lot of features that I hadn't known before while making this, particularily the "filters" tab, I just ignored it before but wow that has a lot of cool things inside.

This is a drawing of the main character for a video-game I am currently in the planning-phase for (her name is Kesson), it is a very technologically ambitious video-game for me as I sadly (for my well-being) became inspired by "Shenmue" for Dreamcast and "Flower, Sun, and Rain" for PS2 as I was thinking of ideas.
I don't want to spoil all my guts and vomit out, but it is about a U.S government funded underground facility that is used to house, raise and send out genetic clone homunculus's of famous baseball players for baseball, that shows a facade of a little island with a baseball field in the middle of the ocean.
The game tells the many tales of the worst baseball player in the entire facility, Kesson.

I drew a flip-phone because I was studying flip-phone's, flip-phones are beautiful.
This was also a purpose for trying to figure out a character design, I won't say for who, the inclusion of the character Kesson was what made this piece what it is, as I totally restructured it after doodling her face.
I really like the texture of the linework in this, it looks very nice.

This is a type of drawing I have accoustomed myself to, a blast of thoughts frenetically drawn, scrunched together in resolution too tight for comfort.

I like Space Funeral.
Zoom in for notes: I made this with Blender.
I made a 3D model of giant sentient diary of someones suicidal ramblings and had it walk down the stairs and engulf the camera for a project. Rigging the model was one of the most awful things I have ever had to do, what a pain.
Some of the polygons were stretching and getting messed up but other than that animating the movement was easy.

This was intended to be a re-make/finished version of an old 2021 drawing, but my ideas weren't going the way I wanted and it went off the rails and I ended up making something different.
I used blender to try and make the horned character in 3D and put it in the illustration, but as my ideas shifted, it's incorporation didn't feel fitting so all that is left is that crunchy purple imprint you can see in the background.
The way the "REAL" and "SPIRIT" thing looks is inspired by the Killer7 beta UI feature when in first person mode, where it says "Search" on the left with a connective line that goes to the word "Release" (I wish more elements of the beta's UI was incorporated in the final game, it looks nice).
I like the contrast of futuristic cleanliness and frenetic messiness, I put a bunch of words on the screen because I put notes for what I wanted visually and liked how it looked so I immitated it and implimented it in a way that fit better.
I put a blood stain that trails from REAL to SPIRIT due to a phrase that was stuck in my head from Tony Domenico's short story "3D Workers Island", where it describes the inherent violence of reality transitioning to fictional, or vice versa.
This kind of chaotic sort of collage imagery has been a style that I have been repeating throughout the year, there's something fun about it, it feels cathartic, although I don't want to make this type of picture forever.
I gave up on the arms and did the laziest thing I could think of. I quite like how the 3D model turned out otherwise.
This is my third time modelling this specific character and my first time modelling the entire body, I like how the face turned out.
The modelling of the legs went a lot better than expected, I just extended from the cylinder and did some shaping to create the legs.
I used an older version of Blender and I quite like how it looks compared to the newer versions, the white and gray looks more "futuristic" or something, like hyper-future.
I haven't checked if newer versions have the options to change the color of the screen at all. I think I will try to actually create the arms and rig this dumb thing, that could be fun actually.

This is a modified version of a drawing I made, you can tell due to the different line-work, maybe that is an annoying inconsistency but it doesn't bother me too much as of now.
It is like that due to there being a previous incarnation where the character was an abstract scary smiley face but I looked at the preview image and I thought it was a person with long green hair and a blue turtle neck, so I drew what I saw.
This drawing is kind of stupid but I kind of like it somewhat.
